The Croydon Budget Battle

In 2022, inspired by a pamphlet, residents at the annual meeting of the Croydon New Hampshire School District voted to reject the usual ransom demanded by the district administration, and to instead present a budget based on what they thought was fair and affordable. In the ensuing months, a group coached and funded by outside interests mounted a fear and smear campaign that succeeded in overturning this vote. The considerable coverage by the media told only one side of the story. This book reveals the other side, which you were never supposed to hear.
